SPECIAL TEAMS NOTESIN THE COMMUNITY• On Oct. 31, 2023, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers launched a coaching academy that delivers an intensive, comprehensive curriculum and opportunity to participate in the team’s 2024 rookie minicamp for coaching candidates seeking their first entry into the NFL. • The inaugural class received valuable on-field experience, interactive sessions, business insights, media training, film review, and instruction on key football software with NFL players, coaches and staff. Participants are be given hands-on instruction as well as valuable networking opportunities with Buccaneers coaches and staff members throughout the organization. The Academy complements the NFL’s long-established Bill Walsh Diversity Coaching Fellowship, created in 1987, to open pathways for minority coaches into the league. • Of the 25 finalists selected to partake in the program, four returned as coaching fellows to assist with the Buccaneers 2024 training camp, including Earl Chambers (defense), Cody Cruzen (defense), Jeremy Patterson (special teams) and Kearstin Schweitzer (offense).
